The Escape

My “escape” animation was based around the concept of a man entering repeating rooms and getting gradually more and more frustrated. The concept although fun would require more time than the project allowed. Because of this it was shortened to an intro with many rooms already repeating to demonstrate that he had already been through multiple rooms and that he already frustrated.

I didn’t produce a large amount of notes or storyboards when planning the animation with the most of my ideas being marked out using an blank boxed room and a non textured max model rig to plan out stepped animation movements as an animatic. This was shown publicly to my fellow classmates during a feedback session. This is further evident with My lack of a physical diary to track production and focused more on designing the animation.

The style of the animation was to be kept simplistic with the room containing a basic tile texture and the floor and character using different selection of Maya preset textures.

Bellow is the incomplete render of the finalised version, it is incomplete due to multiple 8 hour renders corrupting images or not rendering the correct camera. due to the amount of time correcting the render some shot weren’t completed and thus the rendered film isn’t complete. However I will provide a play-blast of what one of the scene was supposed to have been in full.

Bellow is a play-blast of the scene with all movement.

The below play-blast is an unused short due to lack of time
