This was because both it and my animation played with the theme of isolation and partial repetition. However in the case of my animation, it was going to approached in a more comedic direction.
The games use of repeating tiles and a sterile white or black room help accentuate that i wanted to use a room with tiles and simplistic design to further approach the isolation point of view.
